Molybdenum Disilicide Heating Elements

Bent U MoSi2 Heating Elements

Bent U MoSi2 Heating Elements are custom high-temperature furnace heaters available in 1700, 1800 and 1900 grades. Dimensions, resistance and geometry are selected from the furnace temperature, atmosphere, electrical system and installation drawing.

Bent U MoSi2 Heating Elements

Product Overview

Bent U molybdenum disilicide elements adapt the standard hairpin heater to side-entry, angled or space-limited furnace layouts. Every bend changes installation clearance and mechanical loading, so the shape should be controlled by an approved drawing.

Applications

These elements support special chamber geometries, retrofit projects and furnace designs where a vertical standard U element cannot reach the required heating zone.

Selection Data

State 1700, 1800 or 1900 grade requirement, all straight lengths, bend angles, radii, diameters, terminal spacing and electrical data. Shipping supports may be needed for long asymmetric shapes.

Technical Review Before Production

A heating element should not be selected from appearance alone. Send the existing drawing, readable markings, overall and sectional dimensions, nominal resistance, voltage, power and quantity. Also identify the furnace temperature, atmosphere, cycle frequency and mounting orientation. These details allow the proposed geometry to be checked before a quotation or production drawing is issued.

Replacement Reference

Requests for bent replacements used in Nabertherm, Carbolite Gero, Thermcraft or other furnaces require the exact furnace model and original element information; compatibility is never assumed from the furnace name alone.

Installation And Service Considerations

Element spacing, terminal ventilation, support design and expansion clearance affect operating stability. New and aged elements may have different electrical behaviour, so circuit grouping and transformer adjustment should be reviewed during maintenance. Avoid mechanical stress during unpacking and installation, and keep conductive contamination away from terminals and insulation.

Quotation Checklist

For a faster technical response, include the furnace manufacturer and model when known, photographs of the complete element and both terminals, a sketch with dimensions, the required quantity and the reason for replacement. If an old sample is available, retain it until the proposed dimensions and resistance have been agreed.

Supply Scope And Important Notice

Bent U MoSi2 Heating Elements can be supplied in standard or customer-specific dimensions after technical confirmation. The final proposal applies only to the reviewed drawing and operating conditions. Brand and furnace-maker names, when mentioned, identify the customer’s existing equipment; they do not imply authorization, endorsement or a universal drop-in replacement.
